SUMMARY OF ORGANIZATION
The Chrysalis Project is a non-profit community based organization. We currently are located in Los Angeles. The Chrysalis Project's early roots trace back to the "cry for help" from a greatly under served youth community. The recognition that there was an issue of lack of services resources and education spawned the Chrysalis Project's Mission.
MISSION
To initiate, coordinate, promote and/or administer programs, events, services and activities designed to meet the educational, social, physical, spiritual and recreational needs of people residing in underserved communities including juvenile camps and youth authorities in order to create safe, clean, healthy, violence free, life enhancing communities.
CURRENT SERVICES
- Program Consultation - Conference Planning - Radio & Television Production - Art Workshops - Murals - Youth Group Facilitation - Youth Knowledge Circles - Life-Skills & Job Readiness - Key Note Speaker Bureau - Educational Skateboarding Exhibitions
We are currently seeking funding to assist us with stipends and salaries for current workshop volunteers. If you are interested in funding any of the following programs please feel free to contact Adrian Veliz, Executive Director. Contact: Phone - 323-810-1080

Mural Above Designed By Arnoldo Vargas Painted By: Wilmington Community
Our Wilmington Community Development Project was a huge success thanks to Arnoldo Vargas and the entire Community of Wilmington. Community residents, elders and youth came out to support anyway they could, assisting with painting, supplying ladders and food to make this historical event possible.
Stay tuned because we're planning on doing it all over again down the street. We are continuing our efforts to make this community a more respected place on the globe.
The Savila Mural Project is made possible with funding from the Neighborhood Matching Fund, community donations and volunteer work.
Mural Location: 1214 East L Street Wilmington, CA 90744
For mural explanation and/or field trip visits please contact Adrian Veliz, Executive Director of The Chrysalis Project at 323-810-1080 or e-mail us at chrysalisproject@verizon.net

The Chrysalis Project currently has three major components:
1) The Savila Mural Project works with "high-risk" inner city youth to paint educational and socially relevant murals. Savila is the Spanish word for Aloe Vera which was used by the indigenous people of the "Americas" to treat wounds because of it’s medicinal properties. We feel the lack of education and artistic expression within our communities are also wounds, and should be treated as such through freedom of expression, community advocacy, and education.
2) Our "Palabra Collectiva" produces events and facilitates Art and Educational workshops cultivated to meet the "wholistic needs" of the community. The word "Palabra" is the Spanish word for an offering of knowledge and/or love. 3) K.R.Y.L.O.N. 13, a component of the Chrysalis Project, a 501 (c)(3) publicly supported foundation was created in 1993 to provide opportunities for inner-city youth and families to participate in cultural, educational, and community enrichment programs that build confidence through knowledge of self and community. The concept of “wholistic education”, is defined by Adrian Véliz as “a teaching method that utilizes the participant’s interests and environment as the root subject matter for their individual education.”
The Chrysalis Project is a strong advocate of peace and continues to pray for the enlightenment of Earth. Much respect to Carlotta Veliz & Jose Radzinsky. These efforts are dedicated to Felipita Mendoza, Lazaro Morales and Raul Veliz.
